After being debuted by teammate Jayson Tatum in the Celtics’ ECF Game 7 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving‘s “Power Is Female” iteration of the Nike Kyrie 4 is set to officially release this week. Featuring an aqua upper with light blue accents on the tongue branding and the midfoot swoosh, the shoe’s female-centric graphics arrive via a heel collar and midfoot swathed in an embossed all-over print featuring sayings like “Power Is Female” “A New Generation” and “Fe Nom.” The symbol of the Roman god Venus—a commonly used indicator for “female—arrives on the heel, cleverly combined with a basketball graphic, and the shoe’s look is completed with a speckled midsole and a two-tone outsole featuring orange and white outriggers. Look for these female-first Kyrie 4s to release this Friday, June 15th and retail for $120 USD. Need a new pair of summer-ready hoop shoes? American Footwear Industry Rejects Trump’s Claims That Canadians Smuggle Shoes

Published

on

Donald Trump has become involved with the US footwear industry, alleging without proof that Canadian people smuggle shoes across the border to avoid high tariffs. In a statement given at the National Federation of Independent Business, where he said “The tariffs to get common items back into Canada are so high that they have to smuggle them in. They buy shoes and they wear them. They scuff them up.”

Matt Priest, president of the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America, said that the president was “misinformed,” saying that Canadians had no reason to smuggle in shoes because their government is already lowering the price of shoes through trade deals. He went on to say “On behalf of the American footwear industry, we welcome anyone from anywhere to come and purchase shoes in America. We don’t care where they wear them, and if they get scuffed up all the better so we can sell them more.”

In non-smuggling related footwear news, Supreme has teamed up with Vans for a collab.

Reebok Classic and Size? Team Up on the ’83 Ree-Cut

Published

on

Reebok Classic has joined forces with Size? on the ’83 Ree-Cut, a lightweight performance shoe. The original shoe was released in 1983, a lightweight performance shoe that was made to work alongside contemporary runners. The reissue is made from a suede/nylon mix, adding back the ‘Union Jack’ Reebok logo which was a feature of all footwear from the company before 1985.

The rest of the shoe uses vintage reflective piping on the tongue trim and heel, an archival size tag, gum outsole and a mixed traction pattern that differs from the standard Classic pattern. The Size? Exclusive Reebok Classic ’83 Ree-Cut is available now from Size? costing £70 (approximately $92 USD).

In related news, Size? added to the “Safari” pack with a Nike Air Max 1 release.
